We start in the heart of Madrid, at Kilometre Zero, the point from which the country's roads are measured. Beside the statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree, the emblem of the city, the first tasting of the day is croquetas de bacalao, warm and crisp and served the way locals have them. A short introduction to the square sets the tone for the rest of the route.

Full Description
Central Madrid reveals itself best on foot, one tasting at a time. Our two-hour private or small-group walk crosses the oldest quarters of the city, from Puerta del Sol to the alleys around the Church of San Ginés, pairing seven landmarks with seven tastings of Spanish classics. An expert local guide leads the way, so we move between squares, food counters, and historic kitchens with the ease of a local.
Our route follows the city's own history. At Puerta del Sol, beside Kilometre Zero and the statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree, we start with croquetas de bacalao. Under the porticoes of Plaza Mayor, the frescoed Casa de la Panadería frames a classic bocadillo de calamares. Through the Arco de Cuchilleros, the streets of the Madrid de los Austrias open onto Plaza de la Villa, where the Casa de la Villa and the Torre de los Lujanes stand over a tasting of Spanish ham and cheese and a portion of tortilla de patatas.
From Plaza de la Villa, we reach the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace, admired from the outside, with a traditional tapa such as pimientos de Padrón along the way. The gardens and monarch statues of Plaza de Oriente and the Teatro Real follow, with nearby streets serving gambas al ajillo. We end at the Church of San Ginés with churros and thick hot chocolate.
We keep groups small, and we can arrange private departures at a preferred time. For private tours, pickup at the hotel, the airport, or the train station can be organized on request. The meeting point is confirmed after booking and is always in the city center. Food and tastings are included, drinks are not.
